Teaching has changed.
The support educators receive should change, too.
Teachers were taught how to care for students.
I provide practical tools to help them leave the school day at school.
Purposeful Interventions for Educators was created because educators spend every day caring for others—but rarely receive the tools to release the stress they carry home.
PIE provides practical, therapist-informed strategies that help educators reset, regulate, and return to the work they love.
Teaching has changed, and many educators are looking for practical ways to release stress, reset after difficult moments, and continue doing the work they love.
Purposeful Interventions for Educators (PIE) provides practical tools to help educators navigate stress, regulate the nervous system, and leave the school day at school.
Teaching has changed. The way we treat educators needs to change too.
- The classroom feels more emotionally demanding than it once did.
- Supporting students often means holding "big feeling events" long after the school day has ended.
- Self care isn't always practical in the middle of a busy school day. Small, evidence based tools are.
- Caring for yourself isn't stepping away from your students. It's what allows you to keep showing up for them.
- Many educators are navigating bigger emotions, complex situations, and more demands than ever before.
What people in education notice over time..
- You replay the "big feeling events". You care deeply about your students, but by the end of the day, you may feel emotionally and physically depleted.
- You miss the feeling that first brought you into education. Not because you've stopped caring, because you are holding space for so many individuals.
- The joy of teaching becomes harder to find. Not because you've stopped caring, because you've been carrying so much.
You have more choices than you realize.
Small, therapist-informed tools can help you release stress, regulate your nervous system, and reconnect with the work you love.

Why I Created PIE
For more than 30 years, I've had the privilege of helping individuals and families navigate trauma, grief, anxiety, and life's most difficult transitions as a licensed therapist.
A few years ago, I stepped into a new role as a school mental health provider and quickly realized that schools have an energy unlike anywhere I'd worked before.
Every day, educators respond to big emotions, unexpected crises, celebrations, disappointments, and countless moments that require patience, compassion, and resiliency, all while continuing to teach. (Sometimes all before lunchtime)
Watching educators do this every day changed me.
As therapists, we're taught practical ways to recognize stress, regulate our nervous systems, and release the emotional weight of difficult days. I realized many of these same tools could benefit educators, too.
That's why I created Purposeful Interventions for Educators (PIE).
My goal isn't to add one more thing to your already full plate. It's to share practical, therapist-informed strategies that help you reset after difficult moments, release stress, and continue doing the work you love.
Because I believe educators have more choices than they realize.
What do others think?
"I highly recommend these strategies, I use them daily".
–RB
"Thank you so much for showing us ways around stress and burnout!"
—TT
"Learning about Triggers, Glimmers, and Anchors was what I need to get through the day. I thought it was great, please come back".
